Space42 And E& Collaborate To Enhance Vehicle-to-Everything Technologies For Autonomous Mobility In The UAE

Space42 and e& UAE have joined forces to advance autonomous mobility and smart city infrastructure in the UAE. They have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop, test, and deploy Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technologies. This collaboration aims to enhance connected and autonomous mobility nationwide.

The partnership leverages Space42’s Sovereign Mobility Cloud and autonomous vehicle solutions with e& UAE’s 5.5G, edge computing, and secure communication protocols. Together, they plan to co-develop pilot projects, regulatory frameworks, and business models. Their roadmap includes a transition towards 6G technology.

Space42 and e& Team Up for V2X Technologies

Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technology allows vehicles to communicate with their surroundings, including other cars, road infrastructure, and pedestrians. This communication enhances safety and efficiency by providing broader situational awareness and deeper traffic analysis capabilities. The technology also supports over-the-air updates for autonomous vehicles.

Hasan Al Hosani, CEO of Smart Solutions at Space42, remarked on the partnership: "This partnership brings together innovation on the ground and in the cloud. By combining Space42’s autonomous systems with e& UAE’s advanced networks, we can turn vehicles into more intelligent, connected and embodied agents that move safely through our cities."

The MoU outlines collaboration in three key areas: connected infrastructure & networks, autonomous & connected mobility pilots, and ecosystem & commercial models. They will integrate terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks with Space42’s Sovereign Mobility Cloud for large-scale V2X communication.

Masood M. Sharif Mahmood, CEO of e& UAE, stated: "Together with Space42, we’re combining UAE-wide 5.5G, edge compute and secure communications with the Sovereign Mobility Cloud to let vehicles ‘see’ more, react faster and share trusted data with roads, signals and pedestrians."

Collaboration with Local Authorities

The companies will work with local authorities like the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), Department of Municipalities and Transportation (DMT), Abu Dhabi Police, regulators, municipalities, and industry partners. Their goal is to develop standards and certification frameworks for commercial rollout across the UAE.

This initiative aligns with the UAE’s National AI Strategy 2031. It aims to position the nation as a global leader in artificial intelligence applications across various sectors including next-generation mobility.

Commitment to Smart Autonomous Systems

The collaboration builds on both companies’ commitment to advancing smart autonomous systems in the UAE. By integrating AI, edge computing, and secure data networks, they are creating adaptive systems that allow seamless interaction between vehicles, infrastructure, and people.

This partnership strengthens Space42’s strategy to become a leader in geospatial intelligence and AI platforms. It enhances their Smart Solutions offering while supporting wider industry applications.

Their efforts contribute significantly to redefining mobility in the UAE by creating intelligent transportation systems that are sustainable and efficient.
