SIRA Officially Launches Tawash System To Enhance Secure Gold Transportation In Dubai
The Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) in Dubai has officially launched the "Tawash" system. This follows its initial introduction at Intersec 2025, a major global safety and security event. The system is set to redefine security standards for transporting gold and jewellery by using advanced technologies that ensure real-time tracking, maximum protection, and full regulatory compliance.
During a gathering at the Aman Security Training Centre in Dubai, attended by key gold and jewellery companies, the transformative impact of "Tawash" on the transportation sector was highlighted. The system offers a smart, fully monitored solution protected by cutting-edge security technologies, making it an ideal choice for secure transportation operations.

Jassim Taher, Director of Special Projects at SIRA, stated, "Today, 'Tawash' has officially entered the operational phase." The application is designed to secure gold shipments between commercial entities. It allows for real-time monitoring by law enforcement to ensure safe delivery. This innovative approach replaces traditional cash transport companies with a more efficient and secure alternative.
SIRA emphasised that all transport operations must use high-tech security bags that meet rigorous testing and certification standards. These bags include smart alarm systems that activate upon unauthorised access detection. They also feature loud sirens to alert authorities during breaches and electronic locks to prevent illegal openings.
Dubai Police will have immediate auditing authority over any transport operation. Multi-layered verification measures are in place to ensure full compliance with regulations. Violations, such as transporting gold beyond permitted limits without proper security measures, will incur immediate fines.
SIRA urged all companies to adhere strictly to the system’s standards and leverage its intelligent security solutions. This adherence is crucial for maintaining a secure and stable gold market in Dubai.
The "Tawash" system represents a significant advancement in securing gold and jewellery transportation. By integrating advanced technologies with strict regulatory oversight, it ensures both safety and efficiency in this critical sector.
