Silal Partners With Shouguang Vegetable Industry Group To Enhance Agricultural Innovation In The UAE

Silal, a prominent agri-food and technology company in Abu Dhabi, has formed a strategic alliance with Shouguang Vegetable Industry Group, a leading Chinese enterprise in vegetable seed breeding. This partnership aims to enhance innovation, boost production efficiency, and strengthen the supply capacity of agricultural products within the UAE. The agreement was signed during Global Food Week activities in Abu Dhabi.

The collaboration between Silal and Shouguang Vegetable Industry Group will focus on establishing a seed development programme. Additionally, they plan to create a greenhouse demonstration park based on the 'Shouguang Model.' This park will showcase advanced greenhouse technology, seedling cultivation, grafting techniques, pollination, and plantation management practices to benefit farmers in the UAE and surrounding regions.

Salmeen Alameri, CEO of Silal, expressed commitment to optimising production and ensuring food accessibility. This strategic initiative is part of various collaborative efforts that highlight both parties' leadership roles in agri-tech advancements and sustainable growth. It aligns with Silal's goals of advancing agricultural innovation by investing in new technologies and developing suitable agri-tech solutions for UAE farmers.

The agreement was signed by Salmeen Al Ameri from Silal and Ming Yang from Shouguang Food and Agricultural Industries Group. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, UAE's Minister of Climate Change and Environment, along with Saeed Al Bahri Al Ameri from ADAFSA.

This partnership not only aims to improve agricultural practices but also seeks to address industry challenges through innovative solutions. By leveraging each other's strengths, both companies aim to build a resilient food supply chain that meets evolving market demands.
