Shurooq Reports Significant Progress On LUX Al Jabal And LUX Al Bridi Resorts In Sharjah
The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), alongside The Lux Collective, has reported progress on two major resort projects. Construction of the LUX Al Jabal Resort in Khorfakkan is 40% complete, while the LUX Al Bridi Resort in Al Dhaid has reached 25% completion. These developments represent a combined investment of AED320 million and are expected to be finished by late 2025.
Both resorts aim to bolster Sharjah's reputation as a top luxury eco-tourism hub. The LUX Al Jabal Resort is strategically located along the Gulf of Oman, nestled between Khorfakkan and Luluyah. This upscale retreat offers 45 accommodations, ranging from one-bedroom to two-bedroom units, designed to harmonise with local heritage and natural beauty.

The LUX Al Jabal Resort spans 260,000 square metres and incorporates eco-friendly materials like PEFC-certified Finnish wood. Guests can enjoy various recreational activities while immersing themselves in nature and local culture. Meanwhile, the LUX Al Bridi Resort is situated near Sharjah Safari in Al Dhaid, featuring 35 tented retreats inspired by African wildlife.
This resort offers a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom accommodations within a luxurious setting. It aims to enhance the Al Bridi Nature Reserve, which covers 784 hectares and represents a significant eco-investment in the emirate.
Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq, remarked that both resorts are valuable additions to their hospitality portfolio. "Both LUX Al Jabal and LUX Al Bridi resorts are valuable additions to Shurooq’s hospitality portfolio," he stated. These projects align with global trends towards sustainable travel experiences.
Al Qaseer further noted that these developments reinforce Sharjah's status as a leading sustainable tourism destination. He emphasised the importance of preserving natural surroundings during construction due to the unique geographical locations of these projects.
Partnership with The Lux Collective
Olivier Chavy, CEO of The Lux Collective, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with Shurooq. "We are honoured to partner with Shurooq in supporting its sustainability-driven tourism vision," Chavy said. The Lux Collective aims to create immersive eco-luxury experiences that align with international standards for responsible tourism.
The group focuses on promoting responsible tourism that uplifts ecosystems, heritage, and communities for a sustainable future. Their approach aligns with UN goals and seeks to operate responsibly for future generations.
Impact on Sharjah's Tourism Sector
Shurooq highlighted that its resorts play a crucial role in Sharjah's growing hospitality sector, which welcomed over 1.5 million guests in 2023—a rise of 11% from the previous year. These projects support Sharjah's long-term plans to become a premier destination for luxury and sustainable tourism.
This initiative aligns with the UAE’s national strategy aiming for AED450 billion in investments by 2031. A focus on eco-tourism and sustainable resort development is central to preserving the unique beauty and geography of these environments.
