Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Celebrates New Graduates Of The Emirati Leadership Program

H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UoS), graced the graduation ceremony of the third batch of students from the Emirati Future Leadership Initiative (EFLI). The event took place at the Student Forum at the University of Sharjah, marking a significant milestone in the university's commitment to fostering future leaders.

The ceremony commenced with a presentation by two students, Fatima Al Shamsi and Amna Al Naqbi, titled "Lessons from the Future Leaders Camp at the University of Malay in Malaysia." They shared insights into the camp's activities, which was a collaborative effort between the University of Sharjah and the University of Malay in Malaysia. This week-long camp, part of a six-month Future Leaders Programme, involved 14 students and covered topics such as governance, transformational leadership, and future shaping.

Experts and specialized trainers delivered sessions on various important subjects during the camp. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to visit government institutions, companies, universities, training institutions, and complexes focused on industrial and advanced technology. These field visits aimed to expose students to innovative projects tackling local and global challenges across different sectors.

The graduates presented five innovative projects that underscored their vision for societal growth. These projects proposed ideas for training and qualification through a specialized academy, support for new students via a future generation career exhibition, and innovative applications. The showcased projects reflected the diverse skills acquired by students throughout their participation in the program, including technology use, innovation, administrative and educational goal achievement, creative and research talents enhancement, problem-solving, effective time management, and teamwork.

At the ceremony's conclusion, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed honored the 36 graduates from various colleges of the University of Sharjah. The Emirati Future Leadership Initiative aims to bolster Emiratisation efforts, fulfill the university's social responsibility mandate, build students' professional and practical capabilities, and equip them with skills to meet labor market demands through workshops and field visits. This initiative has been organized by the University of Sharjah for three consecutive years.
