Sheikh Sultan Award Ceremony Celebrates 680 Young Winners In Sharjah With Inspiring Guidance From H.H. Sheikha Jawaher

H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, attended a ceremony at Al Badi’ Al Amer Palace. The event celebrated 680 winners of the fifth Sheikh Sultan Award for Celebrating the Spirit of Youth (SSACSY). This award recognises young individuals' achievements in various fields.

During her speech, H.H. Sheikha Jawaher expressed her delight at seeing so many young achievers. She stated, "I am truly delighted to see such a large group of young people before me today, for you have believed that adventure is spirit, volunteering is its nourishment, and discovering yourselves at this early age is your compass to becoming exceptional youth."

Celebrating Youth at Sheikh Sultan Award Ceremony

H.H. Sheikha Jawaher shared parental advice with the winners, emphasising values as essential for success. "I take this opportunity to instil in your values that I trust will serve as your sustenance on your journey," she said. She highlighted the importance of family, teachers, and friends as a support system providing encouragement.

The significance of loyalty and honesty was also underscored by H.H. Sheikha Jawaher. She advised the youth to honour commitments and avoid breaking promises, which can weaken relationships. "Breaking promises sows doubt and weakens the bonds between you and others," she noted.

She also addressed responsible social media use, urging attendees to avoid spreading disputes or rumours online. "Avoid posting disputes and arguments," she advised. Instead, she encouraged verifying information from reliable sources and maintaining a positive online presence.

Aziza Ibrahim Al Mazmi, Director of SSACSY, welcomed attendees to Sharjah, highlighting the emirate's role in nurturing youth potential. She stated that His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi believes in discovering individual energy through giving.

Award's Broader Vision

Al Mazmi explained that SSACSY aims beyond awarding medals; it seeks to equip youth with life skills for personal growth. "The vision of this award has never been solely for young people to seek medals but to acquire life skills," she said.

The award encourages UAE youth aged 13 to 18 to engage in activities like adventure and volunteering. It provides opportunities for skill enhancement across various domains.

A Platform for Growth

The ceremony included remarks from Hamad Al Hashmi and Mariam Majid, who expressed pride in their achievements. They acknowledged how participating in SSACSY enriched their knowledge and motivated them towards future ambitions.

The event was attended by notable figures including Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi and Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Humid Al Qasimi. Leaders from government entities in Sharjah were also present.

H.H. Sheikha Jawaher concluded her guidance with a heartfelt message: "Finally, I urge you to embrace a recommendation that I hope will resonate in your hearts: always seek the pleasure of Almighty Allah." Her words aimed to inspire attendees towards personal growth rooted in sincerity.
