Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Awards Junior Padel Champions At Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament

Winners of the International Padel Federation Junior Championship were honoured by Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of the UAE Padel Federation. The event took place at the indoor Padel hall of Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex. This junior competition was part of the 12th Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament, a significant event initiated and supported by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The tournament is held annually during Ramadan at Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex. It is organised under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, with the theme ‘Limitless Abilities’. The event showcases various sports competitions, including padel and cycling.

Junior Padel Champions Crowned at Nad Al Sheba

In the under-18 final, Ahmed Al Hashemi and Aaron Rubio triumphed over Antonio Palma and Alessandro Perrotta. They also secured victory in the under-16 category by defeating Ramtin Rafiei Borozhni and Ali Taghizadeh Feji. Meanwhile, Hamdan Al Hashemi and Mario Brocal Aviles claimed the under-14 title after overcoming Sepehr Mehrbakhsh and Ramtin Rafiei Borozhni.

Algerian cyclist Hamza Yassine successfully defended his title in the men’s open 74-km race, completing it in 1 hour, 33.09 minutes. He narrowly beat Emiratis Abdullah Jassim Al Ali and Ahmed Al Mansouri to secure his win. In another cycling category for senior citizens and residents, Simon Cox from Great Britain won the 37-km race in 51:11 minutes.

Khalil Haddad from Algeria finished second in this category with a time of 51:14 minutes, while fellow Algerian Noureddine Houchine came third for a second year running with a time of 52:52 minutes. In the People of Determination Road Bicycle Category (C), Emirati Abdullah Salem Al Balushi emerged victorious with a time of 25:19 minutes.

He was closely followed by fellow Emirati Ahmed Mohammed Saif Al Badawi who clocked in at 25:24 minutes, while Saudi Arabia’s Adi Hamdan Al Sharari finished third with a time of 26:35 minutes. In the People of Determination Handcycle Category (H), Omani Sami Al Sulaimi clinched first place with a time of 31:50 minutes.

Volleyball and Wheelchair Basketball Highlights

Emirati Saeed Rashid Juma Al Dhaheri secured second place in this category with an identical time to Sami's, while Theban Salem Al Muhairi finished third at 36:22 minutes. In the Blind People of Determination B&T category, Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Al Malawi won with a time of 26:34 minutes.

Emirati Bader Abdulaziz came second at 33:43 minutes, followed by Ahmed Abdullah Al Shamsi who completed it in 35:43 minutes. In volleyball action at Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, defending champions Zabeel were eliminated after losing to Al Ameed in five sets during an intense match.

Zabeel initially led by winning the first set 25-21 but lost momentum as Al Ameed claimed victory in subsequent sets to secure their semi-final spot with a final set scoreline of 16-14. Tommaso Stefani from Al Ameed was named man of the match after scoring an impressive 16 points.

Al Tadawi 1 maintained their unbeaten record in Group One by defeating HFH with scores of 25-12, 19-25, 25-22, and 25-16 to finish on nine points overall. Maksim Sapozhkov excelled for them scoring a remarkable total of 28 points supported well by Nikita Zudin who added another valuable contribution through his tallying up another fourteen points himself throughout this encounter.

The wheelchair basketball final is scheduled for Wednesday evening at Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex where Dubai Municipality will face off against Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services following their respective semi-final victories over Dubai Police (29-27) and Sharjah Police (34-26).
