Sheikh Hamdan Visits Arabian Travel Market 2024, Emphasizing Dubai's Tourism Vision

At the heart of Dubai's bustling travel and tourism scene, the 31st Arabian Travel Market (ATM) has opened its doors at the Dubai World Trade Centre, running from 6-9 May 2024. This premier global event has attracted the attention of Dubai's highest echelons, with H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, leading a high-profile tour. Accompanying him were notable figures including H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council; and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.

During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the ATM's pivotal role in showcasing Dubai as a leading platform for tourism industry leaders to forge new growth pathways. He underscored tourism as a fundamental component of Dubai's economic framework, especially within the strategic vision of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. The Crown Prince also pointed to a notable surge in international visitors in the year's first quarter, showcasing Dubai's capacity for maintaining its growth trajectory in the travel and tourism sector.

Sheikh Hamdan's tour included several key pavilions, such as Emirates, where he was updated on the airline's future development plans. Other significant stops included flydubai, Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism, Saudi Arabia, and Visit Qatar pavilions.

This year's ATM is celebrated as its largest iteration since its inception in 1994. Starting with 300 exhibitors and 7,000 trade visitors, the event has now become a cornerstone for the global travel industry, integrating various sectors such as MICE, leisure and luxury hospitality, and corporate travel. With exhibitor participation up by 26%, this year's ATM showcases a broad spectrum of innovations across 2,300 exhibitors from 165 countries.

The theme for 2024, "Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship", places a spotlight on entrepreneurial visionaries across aviation, hospitality, and entertainment sectors. This record-breaking edition not only underscores ATM's exponential growth but also reflects Dubai's ambitious drive to continuously elevate travel experiences through innovation.
