Sheikh Hamdan Evaluates Progress Of Al Khawaneej Housing Project For Citizens

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, recently made a visit to the housing project in Al Khawaneej 2, highlighting the ongoing efforts to improve living conditions for Emirati citizens. This initiative underscores the commitment of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, towards ensuring familial stability and enhancing the well-being of the citizens. The project is a testament to creating residential communities that offer comfort and happiness to families.

The Al Khawaneej 2 project is characterized by its vast green spaces, attractive entrances, shaded walkways, and a plethora of public amenities aimed at enriching community life. Additionally, it focuses on upgrading surrounding roads, intersections, and pedestrian crossings to facilitate smooth traffic flow and enhance accessibility. Currently, the project is 47% complete and is anticipated to reach full completion by December this year.

During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan reviewed the development progress of the project, which comprises 1,050 residential units. These include single villas, duplex villas, and townhouse villas along with a commercial and service center, pedestrian and cycling paths, playgrounds, a park, and a nursery. He also inspected three residential villa models designed to meet the diverse needs of Emirati families.

Omar Bu Shehab, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, reiterated the leadership's dedication to improving citizens' well-being and providing a secure residential environment. The establishment is also progressing with several other housing projects in Hatta, Al Aweer, Wadi Al Amardi, and Oud Al Muteena, aiming to benefit over 2,200 Emirati families.

These initiatives are part of a broader citizen housing strategy intended to cater to housing demands over the next 20 years. The strategy focuses on land stock sustainability and enhancing living conditions through the integration of green spaces, shopping centers, and leisure facilities. It aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's strategic vision for citizen housing.

In line with these efforts, Sheikh Mohammed has allocated AED65 billion for the next two decades to elevate living standards in Dubai and position it as a global leader in the housing sector. In 2023 alone, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment completed the Al Warqa 4 Housing Development Project. This project included 136 residential villas tailored to suit the unique needs of Emirati families with diverse architectural styles and integrated indoor-outdoor living spaces.
