Dubai's Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Honours Gov Games 2024 Victors
H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, recently celebrated the achievements of the winners from the fifth edition of Gov Games. This year's event, which concluded on 3rd March 2024 at Dubai Festival City, marked its largest edition with 194 teams from across the globe participating. The meeting with the winners took place at Sheikh Hamdan’s Majlis in Nad Al Sheba, where he lauded the competitive spirit and teamwork showcased throughout the competition.
Sheikh Hamdan's commendation extended to the Gov Games Organising Committee for their successful orchestration of the event. He underscored the significance of determination, collaboration, and teamwork as fundamental elements for achieving excellence and strategic objectives. Furthermore, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized how the Gov Games contribute to enhancing the sports sector by promoting physical fitness and intellectual agility.

The Crown Prince also engaged in discussions with the winners about their experiences and preparations for this year's Gov Games. Special mention was made of the ‘F3’ team, victors of the newly introduced Junior Gov Games category. Sheikh Hamdan encouraged them to persist in their sporting endeavours across various disciplines.
The meeting saw attendance from notable figures including Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology and Chairwoman of the Emirates Schools Establishment, and Abdulla Al Basti, Secretary-General of Dubai Executive Council.
The Gov Games 2024 saw fierce competition across several categories. The ‘F3’ team emerged as champions in the Junior Gov Games category. In The Battle of the Government, the Emirates Schools Establishment won in the female category, while the General Directorate of Dubai Civil Defence took home the top spot in the male category. NAS triumphed in the Battle of the Community tournament. For the second consecutive time, Copenhagen, Denmark won in the Battle of the Cities tournament.
Sheikh Hamdan's interaction with participants and winners highlighted his vision for Gov Games as a platform that not only fosters sporting excellence but also community engagement and teamwork towards overcoming challenges. This aligns with Dubai's ethos of striving for excellence through collaboration.
