Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Launches 31st Edition Of Middle East Petroleum & Gas Conference

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council for Energy, inaugurated the 31st edition of the Middle East Petroleum & Gas Conference (MPGC). The event, hosted by ENOC Group and organised by S&P Global Commodity Insights, is being held at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre, until 22nd May 2024. The theme for this year is "Evolving Core Energy Markets within a Sustainable Landscape".

The opening ceremony saw attendance from key figures such as Saeed Mohammed Ahmad Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Chairman of ENOC Group, along with ENOC Board Members and industry leaders. The conference aims to explore the balance between fossil fuels and renewable energy amidst global oil and gas flow disruptions, energy security concerns, and geopolitical issues.

Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC and Co-Chairman of MPGC, stated, "The Middle East Petroleum & Gas Conference is a valuable global platform that the ENOC Group hosts to bring together specialists from the industry to engage in discussions on recent trends, potential issues and effective solutions. The three-day event features two optional tracks focusing on downstream activities, low-carbon projects, and emerging energy. MPGC 2024 also delves into sustainable energy in aviation and maritime sectors, refinery optimisation, chemical investments, gas and hydrogen interactions, carbon intensity in commodities trading, the circular carbon economy, and regional advancements in hydrogen and its derivatives.

This year’s edition includes three training courses hosted by experts. These courses aim to provide attendees with essential knowledge and tools required for navigating complexities within the energy sector. The sessions are designed to equip participants with skills to address current challenges effectively.

Global Participation

MPGC 2024 is expected to attract over 400 participants from various regions including the Middle East, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Attendees will include leading traders, oil and gas majors, national oil companies, refiners, professional consultants, digital technologists, banks and exchanges, legal firms, regulators, renewable energy players, and other supply and service companies.

The conference aims to deliver effective insights into developing a sustainable energy future amid changing industry environments. By bringing together diverse stakeholders from across the globe, MPGC 2024 seeks to foster meaningful discussions that can lead to actionable outcomes in the energy sector.
