Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Launches Largest-Ever Arabian Travel Market In Dubai

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, a prominent figure in Dubai's aviation and tourism sectors, recently inaugurated the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024. This event, hosted at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 6-9 May, is set to be the largest in its history. With 2,300 exhibitors from 165 countries and an anticipated 41,000 visitors, ATM 2024 underscores Dubai's pivotal role in the global travel industry.

Since its inception in 1994, ATM has evolved significantly, growing from 300 exhibitors and 7,000 visitors to becoming a key international platform for the travel sector. This year's edition sees a 26% increase in exhibitor participation across various travel verticals, including MICE, leisure, luxury hospitality, and corporate travel.

ATM 2024  Dubai Hosts Largest Travel Market

During the opening ceremony, Sheikh Ahmed highlighted Dubai's strategic position as a leading tourism and travel hub. His tour of the exhibition pavilions was joined by notable figures such as Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy; Hilal Saeed Al Marri, Director-General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism; and Danielle Curtis, Director of ATM in the Middle East.

This year's ATM theme, "Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship", places a spotlight on innovative entrepreneurs reshaping the future of travel. The event will feature over 200 speakers across more than 50 sessions, discussing topics from entrepreneurship to sustainability and luxury.

The conference agenda is packed with insightful discussions. The opening day alone features 12 sessions including a keynote speech by Issam Abdulrahim Kazim and a Ministerial Debate on tourism within the GCC. The following days promise to delve into travel technology trends and the impact of technology on aviation.

ATM 2024 also hosts Travel Tech, a showcase for cutting-edge technologies in the travel sector. This exhibition will run until May 7th, highlighting innovations that are driving industry growth. Additionally, an Entrepreneurship Summit will explore how nurturing travel and tourism entrepreneurship can contribute to economic growth.

The event is part of Arabian Travel Week, a festival celebrating travel and tourism in Dubai. Alongside ATM, the week features events such as the ATM Start-up competition and GBTA Business Travel Forums.

ATM 2024 is supported by strategic partners including Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism as the Destination Partner, Emirates Airline as the Official Airline Partner, IHG Hotels & Resorts as the Official Hotel Partner, and Al Rais Travel as the Official DMC Partner.
