UAE's Sheikh Abdullah Calls For Support Of AED 1 Billion Mothers’ Endowment Campaign
In a significant move to support education in underprivileged communities, Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Chairman of the UAE Fatwa Council and Head of the Abu Dhabi Forum for Peace, has urged community members and institutions to back the Mothers’ Endowment campaign. This initiative, spearheaded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, aims to establish an AED 1 billion endowment fund. The campaign, organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, offers a unique opportunity for individuals to donate in their mothers' names as a tribute.
The proceeds from this campaign will be directed towards launching educational projects in partnership with humanitarian organizations, focusing on aiding those in underprivileged areas. Sheikh Bin Bayyah highlighted the UAE's longstanding commitment to charity, noting that such initiatives have become a hallmark of the nation's leadership. The Mothers’ Endowment campaign follows the successful ‘1 Billion Meals Endowment’, further solidifying the UAE's position as a leader in humanitarian efforts.

Sheikh Bin Bayyah extended congratulations to the UAE’s leadership and its people on the advent of Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of endowments in Islam as a means of ongoing charity. He underscored that endowments serve as a powerful tool for fostering solidarity and supporting those in need within the community. The initiative is particularly poignant during Ramadan, a time characterized by compassion and generosity.
Praising His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s innovative approach, Sheikh Bin Bayyah remarked on the significance of honoring parents, especially mothers, through such campaigns. He pointed out that this initiative not only honors mothers but also supports education for the poor and underprivileged, enabling them to become active contributors to their communities.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah called upon businessmen and community members to contribute to this noble cause. He emphasized that donations to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign are considered ongoing charity, benefiting not only those who donate but also honoring their mothers in a meaningful way.
The campaign offers multiple channels for donations, including its website (Mothersfund.ae), a dedicated call centre via toll-free number (800 9999), bank transfers to Emirates Islamic Bank (AE790340003708472909201), SMS donations for Etisalat by e& users by sending "Mother" to numbers (1034, 1035, 1036, 1038), the DubaiNow app under "Donations" tab, and through Dubai’s community contributions platform Jood (Jood.ae). This wide array of donation options makes it accessible for individuals and institutions alike to contribute towards this commendable cause.
The Mothers’ Endowment campaign represents a significant step towards leveraging endowments for educational empowerment in underprivileged communities. It embodies the spirit of giving and solidarity that is deeply rooted in Islamic teachings and exemplified during the holy month of Ramadan. By supporting this initiative, donors have the opportunity to honor their mothers while contributing to a sustainable model of giving that promises ongoing rewards and benefits for those in need.
