Sharjah Youth Launches Skills Lab To Develop Young Talent And Creativity

The Skills Lab, initiated by Sharjah Youth under the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, is now operational. It is hosted in five centres across Sharjah: Wasit Youth, Khorfakkan Youth, Kalba Youth, Dibba Al Hisn Youth, and Mleiha Youth. This programme runs alongside the "Let’s Summer" 2025 activities and aims to blend skill development with enjoyment.

The lab's activities are scheduled to continue until the end of the month. Abdul Hamid Al Yasi, who directs the lab, highlighted the significance of nurturing human capital. He stressed that investing in people is crucial for future growth. The Youth Care Department at Sharjah Youth Foundation described the Skills Lab as a unique opportunity to utilise summer vacations effectively through diverse programmes in a secure setting.

Sharjah Youth Introduces New Skills Lab

This initiative aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi. They emphasise building human capital and harnessing individual capabilities. The programme offers an inspiring environment where members can enhance their skills and explore their potential interactively.

On its inaugural day, over 550 participants attended from various organisations including Sharjah Police Sciences Academy (SPSA), Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, and Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation. This turnout underscores Sharjah's dedication to fostering community partnerships and engaging with local institutions to benefit future generations.

This year's Skills Lab provides a distinctive summer experience that surpasses traditional programmes by integrating practical creativity with applied knowledge. The focus is on innovation and diversity, offering more than 100 specialised programmes across eleven themes that cater to young people's interests while opening new avenues for expression and creativity.

Al Yassi noted that these programmes are crafted professionally to develop, discover, and support participants' talents and skills, steering them towards excellence. The lab aims to provide a rich summer experience that combines learning with fun.

The Skills Lab reflects Rubu' Qarn Foundation's vision of being "a community partner in building and empowering informed and influential generations." By engaging youth in meaningful activities, it seeks to create leaders who can contribute positively to society.
