Council members examined future plans to expand and modernise the waste management system across cities and regions in Sharjah. The focus is on an integrated model that supports environmental sustainability, protects natural resources, improves residents’ quality of life, and keeps pace with projected urban and population growth throughout the Emirate.

The Sharjah Executive Council highlighted that municipalities are developing new processes for collection, treatment, and recycling, using modern technologies and international best practice. These approaches aim to increase efficiency, limit negative environmental effects, reduce dependence on unhealthy landfills, and create a sustainable waste management system that supports long-term environmental protection.

Plans discussed by the Sharjah Executive Council are also linked directly with the UAE’s strategic environmental objectives, especially the national drive for carbon neutrality by 2050. The Council underlined that improved waste management will support this national direction while reinforcing Sharjah’s role in environmental protection and sustainable development policies across the country.

The Sharjah Executive Council also reviewed a detailed report on the "Aqari" platform, described as an integrated digital system for the real estate sector in Sharjah. The platform is designed to improve governance, transparency, and sustainability, while raising the efficiency of real estate services offered to companies, agencies, and tenants.

The report confirmed that the first phase of "Aqari" has been completed. This phase covered the registration of real estate companies and agencies, listing of properties, and provision of rental services through a single unified platform. The system enables faster procedures, shared data between concerned entities, and a fully digital user journey.

Performance indicators for the Aqari platform, presented to the Sharjah Executive Council, showed strong usage across the sector. The platform has handled more than 112,000 transactions, listed 95,000 units, and recorded around 5,000 registered companies and agencies, alongside a 90 percent cut in processing times and complete digital transformation of its services.
