Sharjah Ruler Sheikh Dr Sultan Meets Acting Minister Of Higher Education To Discuss Advancements

His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, recently met with Dr Abdulrahman Al Awar, Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, at Al Badee Palace. The meeting focused on enhancing the higher education system in the UAE. His Highness praised the efforts of various entities within the Council for Education, Human Development, and Society.

Dr Abdulrahman Al Awar expressed gratitude for the continuous support from His Highness towards higher education and scientific research in the UAE. He acknowledged the significant achievements of Sharjah’s universities under Sheikh Dr Sultan's leadership. "The remarkable achievements of Sharjah’s universities and academies under the wise and visionary leadership of Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed ensure the highest quality in scientific and research outcomes," he stated.

Sheikh Dr Sultan highlighted that education is crucial for national development through institutions, universities, schools, programmes, and initiatives. He emphasised that individuals also contribute by engaging in continuous learning and pursuing academic programmes at renowned universities. Stability in educational systems with well-structured programmes positively impacts academic quality.

The Ruler stressed that modern educational technologies should enhance rather than compromise educational quality. Effective knowledge delivery and interaction between teachers and students are vital. His Highness was briefed on plans by the Ministry of Higher Education to support universities in offering top-tier academic programmes aligned with leadership's vision.

During their discussion, Sheikh Dr Sultan underscored that solid educational frameworks ensure proper sciences, knowledge, and skills are passed to future generations. The meeting included key figures like Hajar Al Dhahli, Secretary-General of the Education Council; Dr Mansour bin Nassar, Chairman of Sharjah's Legal Department; and Dr Muhadditha Al Hashemi, Chairperson of Sharjah Education Academy.

His Highness commended efforts to qualify national cadres with superior knowledge and skills. He noted that these efforts contribute significantly to advancing higher education in the UAE. The collaboration aims to maintain high standards in scientific research outcomes while supporting educational institutions across the nation.
