Sharjah Ruler Presides Over Second Meeting Of University Of Al Dhaid's Board

H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Al Dhaid, chaired the university's Board of Trustees meeting on Monday. He warmly welcomed the Board members and congratulated them on the official inauguration of the University of Al Dhaid. Sheikh Sultan expressed his wishes for success and prosperity to all involved in the university, including professors, administrators, and students.

The Board approved the budget for the 2024-2025 academic year and endorsed the university's regulations and organisational structure. They also reviewed a report by Dr. Aisha Ahmed Mohammed Abu Shalabi, the University President, which highlighted achievements during the founding phase. The report detailed strategies for academic and scientific excellence aimed at preparing a skilled generation of specialists.

Sheikh Sultan emphasised that the University of Al Dhaid is a significant addition to higher education in Sharjah. He highlighted its vision and mission in education, learning, training, and scientific research. The institution aims to engage with the community through strategic planning for infrastructure development across various colleges and facilities.

The meeting included reports from several committees: Finance, Academic, Internal Audit and Compliance, as well as Financial Resources Development. These reports provided insights into different aspects of university operations and future plans.

The Board of Trustees present at the meeting included notable figures such as Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of SDAL; Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of EPAA; Ali Saeed bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Public Works; Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashemi, Chairperson of Private Education Academy; Dr. Mohammed Abdullah bin Howaiden, Chairman of Al Dhaid Municipal Council; Mohammed bin Howaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of Al Mudam Municipal Council; Dr. Aisha Ahmed Mohammed Abu Shalibi, Chancellor; Dr Peter McCaffery from Royal Agricultural College; Dr Warwick Bayly from Washington State University; Dr Salem Zayed Al Tunaiji from Higher College of Technology; Dr Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi from Sharjah Education Council; Dr Khalifa Musabah bin Yolk Al Ketbi from Engineering Department at Al Mudam Municipality; Dr Saeed Hareb Dhahi Al Mansouri from Human Resources Planning at Sharjah Police General Command; Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Khasouni from Security Media Department at Ministry of Interior; and Dr Musabah Saeed Al Ketbi from Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work.

Dr. Aisha Ahmed Mohammed Abu Shalabi’s report also covered efforts to engage with the community and strategic planning for infrastructure development across various colleges and facilities within the university.

The Board’s discussions included examining reports from multiple committees such as Finance, Academic Affairs, Internal Audit and Compliance Committees along with Financial Resources Development Committee.

Sheikh Sultan wished success to all members working towards realising the university’s vision in education and research fields.
