Sharjah Ruler H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan Chairs University Of Al Dhaid Board Meeting To Discuss Achievements
H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, led the University of Al Dhaid's Board of Trustees meeting at its headquarters. He expressed satisfaction with the university's achievements and the benefits students gain from its educational offerings, especially in veterinary and agricultural programmes that serve society.
The Board of Trustees discussed various agenda items, focusing on strategic planning and educational administration. They approved the university's strategic plan and reviewed committee performance. Dr Aisha Ahmed Bushlaibi, Chancellor of the University of Al Dhaid, presented a summary report detailing activities and achievements for the current academic year.
H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan highlighted the Gulf region's past shortage of professionals in animal husbandry and veterinary care. This lack left many animals without proper attention. With increasing livestock numbers, such as cows and poultry, he stressed the need to focus on animal care. Supporting students until graduation is crucial for societal benefit.
The Ruler of Sharjah praised partnerships between the university and academic collaborators. The University of Liverpool has excelled in providing quality veterinary education. Similarly, the University of Exeter introduced specialised agricultural programmes quickly, aiming to inspire community engagement in agriculture studies.
The board approved reports from various committees, including Financial, Academic, Internal Audit, Compliance, and Financial Resources Development Committees. These reports reflect their activities and achievements over recent periods. The council also reviewed progress in teaching, research, and administrative operations at the university.
H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan hopes to see students graduate and contribute positively to the region and beyond. He emphasised supporting students throughout their studies to ensure they can make meaningful contributions to society with their knowledge.
The meeting underscored the importance of strong academic partnerships in enhancing educational offerings at the University of Al Dhaid. These collaborations aim to provide high-quality education that benefits both students and society at large.
