Sharjah Police Introduces Innovative Virtual Reality Radar To Combat Cyberbullying At GITEX 2024

Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler's Office, inaugurated the "Virtual Reality Radar" project at GITEX 2024. The event was held at the Sharjah Police Headquarters platform within the Sharjah Government Pavilion. Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Higher Committee of the Sharjah Government Pavilion and Director of Sharjah Digital Authority, participated alongside Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, and other officials.

The "Virtual Reality Radar" is one of two innovative projects showcased by Sharjah Police. Developed by skilled police professionals, this project uses artificial intelligence to detect cyberbullying. It monitors violations on virtual platforms, blocks bullying messages, and reports them. This approach aims to reduce cyberbullying incidents and create a safer digital environment for users.

The second project presented by Sharjah Police is "Smart Education." This initiative introduces "Sand and Soun," the first Emirati virtual family. It focuses on building a secure digital community by enhancing security awareness in multiple languages. The project covers various criminal and security areas like cybercrime and AI-related offences through interactive learning methods.

Major General Bin Amer emphasised that these projects highlight the police force's ability to leverage innovation and advanced technology for community security. They aim to improve societal safety and address modern crime proactively. This effort enhances Sharjah Police's reputation in digitisation and artificial intelligence.

Participation in GITEX provides an excellent platform for presenting these innovative projects. Major General Bin Amer noted that they align with the UAE's vision for digital transformation and improving life quality in the emirate. These initiatives are integral to Sharjah Police's future strategy.

The focus on innovation reflects a commitment to using technology for societal benefit. By addressing modern crime challenges through advanced solutions, Sharjah Police aims to maintain safety and security effectively.
