Sharjah Police Achieves 99.7% Safety Perception Among Residents In 2024
Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, acknowledged the emirate's remarkable success in elevating public safety perception to 99.7% in 2024. He noted that public confidence in Sharjah Police's ability to maintain safety and stability is at 97%. These figures indicate that a vast majority feel secure during the day, at home at night, and in public spaces.
This achievement is attributed to the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. His guidance has been crucial in enhancing security and developing the police force sustainably. This aligns with the UAE’s national vision for a stable society with a high quality of life.

The support from H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, along with H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Rulers of Sharjah, has been instrumental. Their involvement has significantly advanced efforts to achieve security goals and improve police performance.
Public trust levels are high, with 96.7% expressing confidence in police stations. The community's awareness and cooperation have been pivotal in reinforcing security measures and enhancing police readiness. This collaboration supports the vision of a secure society under wise leadership.
Brigadier General Omar Ahmed Boualzoud, Director-General of the General Directorate of Criminal Security and Ports, highlighted that all security indicators reflect the effectiveness of Sharjah Police's system in tackling challenges. He emphasised that these high safety levels result from an advanced preventive approach prioritising human safety.
Institutional Support and Integration
Bin Amer expressed gratitude to both the Executive Council and Consultative Council of Sharjah for their unwavering support of Sharjah Police. Their backing has been crucial in achieving exceptional safety indicators. He also praised the Department of Statistics and Community Development for its scientific approach to measuring public opinion accurately.
The Commander-in-Chief stressed that this success is due to a well-integrated institutional system led by dedicated police personnel working tirelessly to ensure community safety. The synergy between various departments strengthens institutional integration, quality standards, and community partnerships.
The impressive safety perception figures show that 99.7% feel safe during the day; 99.3% feel secure at home at night; 99.3% feel safe in public spaces at night; 98.6% feel safe walking alone at night; and 98.9% feel safe on roads or using public transport.
This milestone reflects a comprehensive effort involving strategic planning, effective leadership, community engagement, and robust institutional support aimed at maintaining a secure environment for all residents.
