Sharjah International Narrator Forum Welcomes Over 120 Storytellers For Its 25th Edition Focused On Travel Tales
The Sharjah International Narrator Forum (SINF) is set to celebrate its 25th edition from September 22 to 26, focusing on the theme "Tales of Travelers." Dr Abdul Aziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, announced this during a press conference. The event will feature over 120 storytellers from 37 countries, highlighting travel literature and oral storytelling traditions.
Dr Al Musallam highlighted that this year's theme provides an opportunity to delve into the cultural and historical significance of travel. He noted how exploration has influenced narrative identity and collective memory over time. The forum's international participation underscores its role in preserving intangible heritage and fostering global cultural exchange.

The forum will host His Excellency Mohammed Al Murr, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation. He will share insights from his travel books, "Around the World in 22 Days" and "The Journey to Zanzibar." These works offer firsthand accounts rich in cultural and intellectual insights, adding depth to the forum's discussions.
This year's edition will also highlight young Emirati travelers who will present stories and performances based on their real-life experiences. Their contributions signify a new generation of storytellers, ensuring the continuation of oral traditions like improvisation and narrative performance.
To nurture future talents, the Institute has introduced a pre-forum training programme. This initiative focuses on storytelling techniques, performance skills, and narrative writing. It aims to equip emerging voices with the necessary tools for excellence in storytelling.
Dr Al Musallam invited the public, researchers, and enthusiasts to participate in the forum's rich programme. Attendees can benefit from 40 new publications, expert-led discussions, and performances by leading storytellers. The event promotes diversity, dialogue, and shared heritage through storytelling.
Promoting Shared Heritage
The forum emphasises cultural values embedded in "Tales of Travelers," reinforcing human connections through storytelling. Dr Al Musallam stressed that this platform encourages dialogue and celebrates diverse narratives while safeguarding heritage.
