Sharjah-India Business Forum Promotes Economic Cooperation And Investment Opportunities
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently hosted the "Sharjah-India Business Forum", a significant event aimed at promoting economic ties and investment opportunities between Sharjah and India. This initiative is part of SCCI's efforts to encourage Indian companies and economic entities to explore the vibrant business landscape and investment possibilities in the Emirate.
At the Forum, held at the SCCI's headquarters, Sharjah was presented as an ideal destination for global and regional businesses looking to establish or expand their operations. The Emirate is known for offering exceptional incentives, benefits, and facilities to investors, along with its advanced infrastructure and a market characterized by economic diversity and significant investment in key sectors.

The event was a follow-up to a visit by a business delegation from India's PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), which included representatives from strategic sectors like fintech, agriculture, healthcare, IT, infrastructure development, and chemical manufacturing. The gathering provided a platform for showcasing the investment opportunities in both Sharjah and India, emphasizing the unique incentives and advantages available to investors across various crucial sectors.
Attendees included Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI; Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector at SCCI; and Fatima Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of the SCCI's International Relations Department. The event also saw participation from representatives of the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone Authority (SAIF Zone), various economic entities from Sharjah and India, and SCCI officials and directors.
Discussions at the forum covered the potential for enhancing trade exchanges and business interactions between the two regions. The goal is to facilitate knowledge sharing and cooperation across different sectors, fostering joint investment projects that would benefit the business communities in both countries.
Economic Relations and Future Prospects
Fatima Khalifa Al Muqarrab highlighted the strong economic relations between the UAE and India, which have been evolving based on mutual visions and strategies for entering new economic sectors. These sectors are essential for driving sustainable growth and boosting economic competitiveness.
Al Muqarrab also referred to the Sharjah-India Business Forum as an extension of the ongoing collaboration between the two sides. She mentioned the success of the recent trade mission from the Sharjah Chamber to India, which resulted in over 365 bilateral business meetings with more than 220 Indian companies. This underscores SCCI's commitment to strengthening the economic partnership between the UAE and India across all sectors.
The forum included a series of side and bilateral business meetings, allowing representatives from Emirati and Indian companies to explore partnership opportunities and discuss potential joint ventures in various economic fields. These interactions are expected to open new channels for dialogue and exchange of insights, further promoting engagement in events and exhibitions hosted by both sides.
