Sharjah's Government Relations Department Engages With ICESCO For Enhanced Collaboration In Education And Culture

Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah's Department of Government Relations, met with Dr. Salim AlMalik, Director-General of ICESCO, to explore potential collaborations. Their discussions focused on shared goals in education, science, and culture. This meeting aligns with both parties' visions for enhancing cooperation in these fields.

Dr. AlMalik expressed gratitude for the support from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. He acknowledged the emirate's significant contributions to cultural and scientific projects during his visit to ICESCO headquarters in Rabat, Morocco.

Sharjah Explores Cooperation with ICESCO

The conversation also covered the upcoming launch of ICESCO's regional office in Sharjah. This office is expected to become a central hub for knowledge and cultural exchange within the region. It represents a significant step in strengthening ties between ICESCO and Sharjah.

Sheikh Fahim conveyed greetings from the Ruler of Sharjah and highlighted that his visit was part of efforts to deepen partnerships with ICESCO. The aim is to collaborate on initiatives that align with Sharjah's cultural and developmental objectives.

Dr. AlMalik outlined ICESCO's new strategic direction during their discussions. The organisation aims to establish itself as a global centre for knowledge and civilisation by engaging member states to address their needs and priorities effectively.

Following the initial meeting, Sheikh Fahim and Dr. AlMalik participated in an extended session with key officials like Dr. Abdelilah Benarafa, Deputy Director-General of ICESCO, and Salem Omar Salem, Director of ICESCO's Regional Office in Sharjah. They explored future joint projects and initiatives between both parties.

Cultural Engagement

Sheikh Fahim concluded his visit by touring an exhibition and museum at ICESCO headquarters. This exhibition focuses on the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Islamic civilisation. It is organised in collaboration with the Muslim World League and the Mohammadia League of Scholars.

The meetings underscored a commitment to fostering educational, scientific, and cultural exchanges between Sharjah and ICESCO. Both sides are keen on developing initiatives that reflect their shared values and aspirations for regional development.
