Sharjah Finance Department Introduces Shj3: An AI-Powered Virtual Assistant For Enhanced Digital Services

The Sharjah Finance Department (SFD) has introduced "Shj3," an AI-driven virtual assistant platform developed by "Tahseel." This initiative is part of SFD's strategy to modernise digital government services. The platform aims to streamline financial processes, offering secure and efficient support for individuals and businesses through various "Tahseel" channels, thus saving users time and effort.

Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Finance Department, highlighted that "Shj3" embodies SFD's vision of creating an intelligent financial environment using advanced AI technologies. He stated, "This initiative simplifies financial processes, reduces transaction time, and enhances transparency in government services. It reinforces Sharjah’s position as a leading city in adopting smart, digital solutions and opens new horizons for improving the user journey while achieving seamless integration between financial systems and smart platforms to boost operational efficiency and service quality."

Sharjah Launches AI Virtual Assistant Shj3

The platform offers a comprehensive range of digital services tailored for both individuals and businesses. Individuals can create accounts, request refunds, top-up e-wallets, and make payments. Corporate users benefit from services like "Tahseel" card requests, contact updates, account creation, and streamlined payments through an intuitive interface.

Huda Al Yassi, Director of the Financial Systems Department, remarked on the significance of "Shj3," stating: "The ‘Shj3’ platform represents a transformative step in the delivery of financial services. It offers a fully digital experience built on artificial intelligence and operational flexibility, tailored to meet the expectations of a wide range of users. This project reflects our strategic focus on strengthening digital infrastructure and employing technology to support sustainable development. Smart transformation is no longer optional—it is essential to enhancing performance and positioning Sharjah as a leader in financial innovation across the region."

The logistics sector benefits from specialised services such as truck card requests, postpaid transactions, driver access requests, wallet top-ups, refund management, and real-time transaction tracking. These features provide greater control over financial operations within a secure digital framework.

The name "Shj3" was chosen to reflect Sharjah's digital identity. "Shj" stands for Sharjah while "3" signifies its strategic economic dimensions. The emirate hosts three major seaports and covers 3.3% of the UAE’s total area. This underscores its role as a key economic hub in the region.

Continuous Technical Support

"Shj3" ensures continuous technical assistance through its virtual assistant feature. Users receive 24/7 support for resolving technical issues and queries beyond just financial transactions. This ensures a smooth digital experience for all users.

The launch event took place at SFD’s headquarters with Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi present alongside Huda Al Yassi and other department heads. The event marked a significant milestone in Sharjah's journey towards becoming a leader in smart financial solutions.
