Sharjah Executive Council Establishes Shariah Oversight Committee For Endowments

The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) convened its weekly meeting on Tuesday, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. The session took place at the office of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi were also in attendance.

The council discussed a range of topics related to the progress of government work within the emirate. Key areas of focus included the development of various services and the monitoring of developmental projects across different sectors.

During the meeting, SEC approved a draft law amending certain provisions of Law No. (2) of 2018 concerning the organisation of the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment (SNQSE). The draft law will be referred to the Sharjah Consultative Council for further consideration.

Additionally, SEC issued a decision to form the Shariah Oversight Committee for Endowments in Sharjah. The committee will be chaired by Dr. Qutb Mohammed Al Raisouni, with Judge Salem Matar Al Housani as Vice Chairman. Other members include Judge Dr. Ibrahim Rashid Al Shadaifat, Judge Obaid Mohammed Ibrahim, Dr. Awad Hussein Khalaf, and Ibrahim Abu Ismaeil Amour, who will serve as Secretary.

The council also received a presentation focused on supporting the fishing sector in Sharjah. The presentation highlighted efforts to unify cooperation among cooperative associations for fishermen. The aim is to maximise benefits for fishermen and increase interest in fishing as a career.

These initiatives reflect SEC's commitment to enhancing various sectors within the emirate, ensuring sustainable development and improved services for its residents.
