Sharjah Consultative Council Reviews Housing Policies And Future Plans For Citizens' Needs
The Sharjah Consultative Council's Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Municipalities, Security, and Public Utilities Committee recently engaged with the Housing Department. This meeting aimed to evaluate policies and projects that enhance the emirate’s housing sector. Discussions centred on integrating sustainability into housing initiatives and ensuring a well-rounded residential environment for citizens.
During the meeting, which took place at the Housing Department's headquarters in Sharjah, Jamila Mohammed Al Fandi Al Shamsi led the discussions. The focus was on aligning future strategies with the department’s vision and directives from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. These directives aim to provide Emirati citizens with adequate housing that supports family security and social stability.

Khalid bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Housing Department, emphasised a comprehensive approach to sustainable housing solutions. He highlighted ongoing efforts to refine policies and improve services in line with leadership’s vision for sustained development. The department remains committed to tailoring solutions to meet citizens' needs effectively.
The committee examined how the Housing Department coordinates with relevant authorities to speed up project completion. Improving service efficiency for beneficiaries was also a key topic. The discussions were part of the committee’s work within the second session of the eleventh legislative term.
Jamila Al Shamsi reiterated the committee’s commitment to enhancing housing services across Sharjah.
