Sharjah Chamber Sets Trade Mission To India To Strengthen Economic Relations

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), through its Sharjah Exports Development Centre (SEDC), is set to initiate a pivotal trade mission to India on the 5th May. This strategic move aims to bolster investment opportunities and foster a stronger bond between the business communities of Sharjah and India. The delegation, led by SCCI Chairman Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, seeks to enhance communication between investors and boost Sharjah’s industrial and commercial exports to the South Asian nation.

The trade mission, scheduled from 5th May to 10th May, will feature a series of high-level meetings with entrepreneurs and businessmen in Chennai and Mumbai. Additionally, the delegation plans to conduct site visits to prominent local businesses and organize forums and symposiums. These gatherings are designed to unite investors, officials, and business leaders from various chambers of commerce and industry, facilitating a platform for dialogue and potential partnerships.

Sharjah's Trade Mission to India

Al Shamsi, a key official from the chamber, highlighted the mission's objective to strengthen economic and commercial ties between Sharjah and India. The initiative also aims to present the myriad opportunities Sharjah offers to Indian investors, supported by governmental initiatives and the SCCI’s efforts to link Sharjah’s business community with their Indian counterparts.

Al Muhairi emphasized the significant growth in economic and trade collaboration between Sharjah and India, attributing it to the proactive trade missions conducted by the chamber. This partnership serves as a testament to the productive cooperation that exists between the two regions.

The SCCI’s commitment is further demonstrated by its incorporation of the Indian Business and Professional Council. With an estimated 18,500 Indian companies currently operating in Sharjah, this initiative reflects the ongoing efforts to attract new investments from India, showcasing the emirate as a thriving hub for international business.
