Sharjah Chamber Engages With Kuwait To Enhance Economic And Investment Cooperation
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently engaged with a diplomatic delegation from Kuwait to explore ways to boost economic and trade ties. The discussions aimed at facilitating trade missions and hosting joint business events to enhance investment cooperation across various sectors, thereby strengthening partnerships between the business communities of both regions.
During the meeting, Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, met with Khalid Abdulrahim Al-Zaabi, Consul General of Kuwait in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Also present were Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, Dr. Fatema Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of International Relations at SCCI, along with other key officials from both sides.

The discussions centred on developing economic cooperation and trade ties between Sharjah and Kuwait at the private sector level. Both parties encouraged companies in various sectors to exchange information on investment opportunities. This initiative aims to foster stronger economic relations and increase mutual benefits for businesses in both regions.
Al Owais highlighted the robust fraternal ties between the UAE and Kuwait, noting their significant growth in various sectors, especially in economic and trade fields. He mentioned that non-oil trade between the two countries reached around AED 45.4 billion (US$12.4 billion) during the first 11 months of 2024, reflecting a 7.2 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023.
The Kuwaiti delegation was informed about the investment opportunities available in Sharjah. The emirate offers attractive incentives for entrepreneurs worldwide, making it an appealing destination for Kuwaiti companies looking to establish business operations or launch new projects.
Sharjah's modern infrastructure, advanced logistics services, flexible regulatory framework, and strategic geographic location were highlighted as key advantages. These factors contribute to creating an ideal environment for business growth and make Sharjah a prime destination for investment.
Al Owais emphasised the importance of maintaining economic cooperation momentum by increasing trade exchanges and fostering bilateral relations across industrial, commercial, and investment sectors. This approach aims to sustain growth and strengthen ties between Sharjah and Kuwait's business communities.
The meeting underscored the commitment of both parties to enhance their economic relationship further. By focusing on mutual interests and shared goals, they aim to create more opportunities for collaboration and development in various sectors.
