Sharjah Chamber Celebrates Graduation Of 26 Participants From Strategic Business Leadership Programme

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently celebrated the graduation of 26 participants from the second cycle of the "Strategic Business Leadership Programme 2024–2025". This initiative, themed "Begin Your Successful Leadership Journey", was organised by the Sharjah Training and Development Centre (STDC) in partnership with the University of Salamanca in Spain. The programme aimed to enhance leadership skills among employees from both government and private sectors in Sharjah.

The event was graced by notable figures such as Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI; Mohammad Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI; and Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Support Services at SCCI. Representatives from various government entities also attended. The programme attracted talented individuals from diverse sectors, focusing on equipping them with advanced methodologies for sustainable leadership and strategic planning.

Sharjah Chamber Celebrates Business Leadership Graduates

The training modules covered a range of topics essential for modern leadership. Participants explored areas like business psychology, artificial intelligence (AI) in institutional leadership, design thinking for challenge management, innovative strategy development, risk management techniques, creative institution design, and organisational innovation. These modules were designed to prepare participants for future-oriented organisational cultures.

Al Owais highlighted the importance of adapting to digital technologies in his speech. He stated, "Digital technologies require unconventional leadership capabilities. Accordingly, the Sharjah Chamber adopts an advanced leadership development framework focused on adaptability and continuous growth, equipping leaders to merge practical experience with contemporary management knowledge." His remarks underscored the need for leaders to integrate practical experience with modern management knowledge.

Maryam Saif Al Shamsi emphasised that the programme offered a comprehensive educational experience. It combined theoretical content with applied practice through workshops led by accredited international experts and practical capstone projects. This approach ensured that participants gained both academic insights and hands-on learning experiences.

A significant highlight was a field study tour to Spain in collaboration with the University of Salamanca. This tour provided participants with a unique opportunity to explore global best practices firsthand. They gained valuable insights that are expected to enhance their careers and strengthen their leadership skills.

Recognition and Certification

The graduation ceremony included a visual presentation showcasing the programme’s milestones and comprehensive training provided to participants. The event concluded with Abdallah Sultan Al Owais and Maryam Saif Al Shamsi honouring graduates from entities like Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority (SEWA) along with other government and private organisations operating in Sharjah.

Participants received the "Certified Internal Consultant" certificate during the ceremony. This certification formally acknowledges their entry into Sharjah’s esteemed community of business leaders and strategic decision-makers. The programme successfully integrated academic insights from renowned global institutions with practical learning through workshops and project work.
