Sharjah Census 2025 Project Launch Approved To Enhance Data Collection And Decision-Making
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, chaired the Executive Council's weekly meeting at the Ruler's office. H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, both Deputy Rulers of Sharjah and Vice-Chairmen of the Executive Council, were present.
The Council focused on various governmental matters to enhance the emirate's development. They aim to implement services that support societal stability and cohesion while ensuring dignified living standards for families. This approach aligns with their commitment to fostering growth across all sectors.
The Council approved the Sharjah Census 2025 project, following directives from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. This initiative aims to gather comprehensive demographic, social, and economic data about Sharjah's population. The data will aid in evidence-based decision-making by providing a detailed understanding of societal needs.
The census will unfold in three stages. It begins with phone interviews for Emirati households on 15th October, followed by in-person field interviews starting 3rd November. The final phase involves population estimates through office work in early January 2026. Preliminary results are expected in the first quarter of 2026, with final results in the second quarter.
In line with guidance from the Ruler of Sharjah to assist citizens in building homes and generating additional income, the Council approved a second round of land grants for 1,500 individuals. This includes 550 residential land grants and 950 investment land grants distributed across various cities and areas within Sharjah.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve living conditions and provide opportunities for economic growth among citizens. By facilitating access to land, the government aims to empower residents to enhance their quality of life.
The meeting underscored the importance of these initiatives in promoting sustainable development within Sharjah. By focusing on both immediate needs and long-term planning, the Council seeks to ensure a prosperous future for all residents.
