Sharjah And Australia Explore Enhanced Cooperation In Education, Business, And Culture

Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Government Relations (DGR) in Sharjah, recently met with Ridwaan Jadwat, the Australian Ambassador to the UAE. The meeting took place at the House of Wisdom and aimed to explore ways to enhance cooperation between Sharjah and Australian cities. Discussions covered various sectors such as education, business, economy, and arts, marking the 50th anniversary of UAE-Australia diplomatic relations.

The meeting was attended by notable figures including Warren King, Deputy Head of Mission for Australia in the UAE; Sheikh Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of DGR; and Marwa Al Aqroubi, Executive Director of the House of Wisdom. They focused on specialised cooperation areas like managing fish trade regulations and integrating advanced technologies with Sharjah Asset Management.

Sharjah and Australia Discuss Cooperation Initiatives

Ambassador Jadwat praised DGR's role in fostering stronger ties between the two nations. He pointed out opportunities for academic collaboration with the American University of Sharjah. This includes meetings with students to introduce them to diplomatic work principles and foundations.

Both parties discussed organising cultural events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of UAE-Australia relations. These events aim to deepen cultural cooperation and strengthen bilateral ties. Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi expressed enthusiasm for these initiatives, highlighting their importance in enhancing cultural connections.

Sheikh Fahim reiterated DGR’s commitment to supporting efforts that achieve mutual goals in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He emphasised DGR's role in boosting Sharjah’s local and international presence through diverse events that contribute to its global status.

The discussions underscored a shared vision for future collaborations across various sectors. Both sides are keen on leveraging their strengths to foster growth and development while celebrating a significant diplomatic milestone.
