Sharjah Archives Launches Advanced Records Management System At Sharjah City For Humanitarian Services

The Sharjah Archives has introduced a records management system at the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) headquarters. This initiative aims to enhance document control and align with best practices, improving workflow and ensuring information sustainability. The agreement was signed by Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Archives, and Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of SCHS, with key officials present.

The records management system is designed to create an organised work environment by classifying, coding, retaining, scheduling, and securely disposing of documents. This technology enhances information accessibility and supports effective decision-making within institutions. Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Qasimi praised the teams involved, highlighting the project's role in fostering a culture of documentation and governance in Sharjah.

New Records Management System at SCHS

Sheikh Khalid emphasised that this step is vital for maintaining humanitarian service documents, which hold significant human value. These documents relate to programmes and initiatives targeting priority groups needing care and assistance. He stated that documenting these resources ensures the continuity and development of services on scientific and historical grounds while advancing administrative organisation in the city.

Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi highlighted the city's commitment to collaborating with various institutions to achieve strategic goals. She noted that adopting a specialised records management system with Sharjah Archives will significantly aid document preservation. "The city will make all files and data available to support this process," she said.

SCHS is one of the oldest institutions in the region serving individuals with disabilities. It has a rich history of achievements and contributions. The new system will support its efforts to provide inclusive, sustainable services for people with disabilities. Following the signing ceremony, representatives from Sharjah Archives toured SCHS departments to learn about its programmes and services.

This collaboration aligns with Sharjah Archives' broader mission to implement its records management system across government entities in the emirate. This effort supports Sharjah's vision of preserving records as part of national identity and ensuring institutional knowledge continuity for future generations.

The visit allowed delegates to understand SCHS's operational mechanisms better. They observed how SCHS integrates care for society's critical segments. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to enhancing service delivery through efficient documentation practices.
