Sharjah Animation Conference Set To Spark Creativity With Global Industry Leaders
The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) is gearing up for the second edition of the Sharjah Animation Conference (SAC), a pioneering event that shines a light on the animation and publishing industries' vibrancy and creativity. Scheduled from 1st to 5th May at the Expo Centre Sharjah, this conference will serve as a melting pot for the world's animation leaders, artists, thinkers, and creators to discuss and envision the future of this dynamic art form.
This year's conference features an impressive roster of experts from industry powerhouses such as Disney, Warner Bros, and Sony. Attendees can anticipate a rich program that spans workshops, engaging discussion sessions, screenings of internationally acclaimed films, and varied exhibitions by some of the industry's most distinguished artists and award-winning figures, including Oscar winners.

SAC aims to be an international hub for sharing knowledge and ideas, exploring the latest industry trends, and fostering creative collaborations. The event underscores animation as a universal medium that merges art with technology while celebrating human and cultural diversity's vast spectrum.
Khawla Al Mujaini, Executive Director of SAC, emphasized the importance of the publishing sector in nurturing the animation industry by providing essential content. Pietro Pinetti, Artistic Director of SAC, highlighted the conference's role in showcasing global animation styles and technologies' evolution, offering insights from pioneers and experts in the field.
The conference will kick off with a concert by the renowned Florence Pop Orchestra, setting the stage for five days filled with creativity and inspiration. With 32 international speakers, 11 workshops, and 18 panel discussions on the agenda, plus a four-day intensive masterclass in collaboration with Aardman Animations, SAC promises to be an enriching experience for both new talents and seasoned professionals in animation.
