AI-Powered Trade Name Issuance Service Launched By SEDD And SDD At GITEX Global 2025
Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) and Sharjah Digital Department (SDD) unveiled the first AI-powered Trade Name Issuance Service at GITEX Global 2025. This innovation highlights Sharjah's leadership in digital transformation, aiming to enhance customer experience for individuals and businesses. The service aligns with Sharjah’s vision of a connected, sustainable, and human-centred digital future.
The AI-driven service is part of DS Assistant, an enhancement to the Digital Sharjah platform by SDD. It analyses business activities to generate creative trade name suggestions instantly, without human intervention. This process streamlines operations, ensuring each name fits the business identity while reducing time and effort significantly.

Key advantages of this AI-powered service include cutting down trade name issuance time by up to 98% and offering customised name suggestions based on user preferences. It minimises human error through automation, supports entrepreneurship, and improves user experience overall.
Hamad Ali Abdallah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of SEDD and Member of the Sharjah Executive Council, stated that their participation in GITEX Global 2025 demonstrates a commitment to leveraging technology for efficient digital solutions. He noted that SEDD collaborates closely with other government entities under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi and His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi.
Al Mahmoud highlighted that these efforts aim to boost government performance, enrich customer experiences, and foster innovation-driven governance. The initiative reflects SEDD’s vision to strengthen its digital infrastructure and promote sustainable development while enhancing business environment agility and competitiveness.
By simplifying company formation processes and facilitating entrepreneurship, Sharjah continues to attract both local and international investors. Al Mahmoud emphasised that all digital transformation projects by SEDD focus on providing user-centric services that make government communication faster, simpler, and more effective.
This initiative reinforces Sharjah’s position as a regional leader in digital innovation. The emirate remains committed to harnessing emerging technologies for seamless government connectivity and improved operational efficiency across various sectors.
