SEDD And MoIAT Collaborate On Workshop For Industrial Technology Transformation Index In UAE
The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) collaborated with the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) to host a workshop titled "The Industrial Technology Transformation Index – ITTI" at YourSpace Al Jada. This event aimed to promote the adoption of advanced technologies and sustainable solutions among industrial companies in the UAE, enabling them to make informed decisions for better resource allocation.
Discussing the workshop's significance, Mariam Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of Industrial Affairs at SEDD, highlighted its role in introducing the Industrial Technology Transformation Index. She noted that this initiative is pivotal for enhancing industrial sustainability and adopting Fourth Industrial Revolution solutions. "It will enhance UAE’s goals to achieve sustainability and climate neutrality," she stated.

The workshop underscored the importance of technological transformation in boosting the competitiveness and sustainability of the UAE's industrial sector. This aligns with the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, which aims to facilitate business operations in the sector. The strategy supports UAE's 2031 objectives for self-sufficiency, industrial security, and increased national value.
Al Suwaidi emphasized SEDD's commitment to collaborating with MoIAT to foster an ideal environment for investors by adhering to international best practices. This cooperation ensures a conducive industrial business atmosphere, promoting sustainable development and reinforcing Sharjah's economic standing. She affirmed SEDD's dedication to working alongside various stakeholders in these sectors.
Building knowledge capabilities among partners in Sharjah aligns with SEDD's strategic goals. This effort focuses on establishing a favourable business environment for both local and international investors, particularly in the industrial sector. By doing so, it supports growth and enhances competitiveness on regional and global scales.
This initiative is part of SEDD's awareness campaign aimed at boosting confidence in Sharjah's markets. It also seeks to raise awareness about approved legal measurement units, empowering the industrial sector and ensuring its sustainable development. These efforts contribute to achieving SEDD's vision of leading economic development within the emirate.
