AGDA And Rabdan Academy Host Panel On Security Diplomacy Addressing Regional Conflicts
The Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) and Rabdan Academy recently hosted a panel titled "Security Diplomacy and Regional Conflicts." The event featured Salem Saeed Ghafan Al Jabri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Security and Military Affairs, along with notable alumni and experts in diplomacy and security. Discussions focused on the role of security diplomacy in resolving regional conflicts through dialogue and mediation, promoting peace over military actions.
Nickolay Mladenov, Director-General of AGDA, highlighted the importance of integrating security with diplomacy to prevent crises. He stated, "Security and diplomacy must work in concert to prevent crises, de-escalate tensions, and build durable peace. This is the mindset we instil at AGDA through rigorous training and real-world engagement." This collaboration aims to prepare professionals capable of transitioning from analysis to actionable outcomes that enhance regional stability.

James Morse, President of Rabdan Academy, emphasised the session's alignment with the Resilience & Diplomacy Forum initiated last May. He noted that this reflects the strategic partnership between both academies as national pillars in diplomacy and security. Morse added that this collaboration empowers graduates to improve decision-making and crisis management skills in a complex global landscape.
The session also explored enhancing cooperation among nations and institutions to address conflict causes. It stressed aligning security needs with diplomacy's core principles of dialogue and mutual understanding. Alumni from both academies shared insights on future security diplomacy challenges, including cybersecurity and advanced technologies, through a cooperative diplomatic lens.
Morse further explained how this partnership strengthens the integration of diplomatic thought with modern security practices. This contributes to developing national talents ready to serve the nation while maintaining its global stature as a symbol of peace and sustainable development. Rabdan Academy plans to continue this collaboration through more sessions and initiatives enhancing national resilience.
The event concluded with participants expressing appreciation for bridging academia with professional practice. They underscored the importance of ongoing collaboration between AGDA and Rabdan Academy in building national capacities, sharing expertise, and supporting efforts to strengthen regional peace and stability.
