SEC Establishes Police Judicial Council In Sharjah To Improve Local Governance And Services
The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) convened on Tuesday, led by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. A significant decision was made to establish the Police Judicial Council in Sharjah, with Brigadier General Omar Ahmed Sultan Bu Alzoud appointed as its head. This meeting also saw the presence of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi.
The SEC's agenda included discussions on enhancing the performance of local departments and authorities. The goal is to ensure top-quality services for the community across various sectors. As part of this initiative, a decision was made to form the Police Judicial Council in Sharjah, chaired by Brigadier General Omar Ahmed Sultan Bu Alzoud.
The newly formed Police Judicial Council will include several key members: Brigadier General Faisal Ibrahim Al Sheikh Nassar, Brigadier General Dr. Muqarrab Khalifa Abdullah Al Muqarrab, Brigadier General Amer Amin Mohammed Al Harmoudi, Brigadier General Abdulrahman Mohammed bin Ashour, Brigadier General Humaid Abdullah Al Musharrakh, Lieutenant Colonel Obaid Obaid Al Kindi, and Captain Saeed Obaid Mohammed Al Naqbi.
In addition to forming the Police Judicial Council, the SEC approved the general organisational structure for the Sharjah Archives. This move aims to support the department’s responsibilities and functions according to its mandate. It reflects ongoing efforts to develop organisational frameworks and governance within government entities.
The 2024 annual report from the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment was reviewed by the SEC. This report highlighted key achievements and efforts over the past year. It detailed programmes that align with the Establishment’s strategy and objectives, focusing on strengthening mosque roles and enhancing Quran memorisation skills in Sharjah.
The report revealed that there are 1,179 male and female Quran tutors involved in 1,465 Quranic circles serving 32,636 students. Additionally, 24 Iqraa circles involve 249 participants specialising in granting connected sanad (chain of narration) to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Joint initiatives with various institutions across Sharjah were also showcased.
Appreciation for Islamic Values Promotion
The SEC expressed gratitude towards the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment for its dedicated efforts in promoting Islamic values through impactful programmes. The council praised its role in embedding Quranic teachings within society through distinguished initiatives.
To conclude their meeting, the SEC directed its General Secretariat to complete legislative procedures required for implementing these decisions. This step ensures that all necessary legal frameworks are in place for effective execution of their plans.
