Saudi Royal Adviser Sheikh Dr. Saleh Bin Abdullah Bin Humaid Visits Sharjah Quran Academy To Explore Its Global Contributions

Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, an Adviser at the Saudi Royal Court and Imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, recently visited the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah. He was informed about its mission and global contributions to Quranic studies. The Academy is dedicated to preserving the Quran and its sciences, housing rare manuscripts and possessions of notable reciters.

The visit coincided with the "Objectives of the Holy Quran: Between Theory and Practice" conference organised by the University of Sharjah. Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Humaid was joined by His Eminence Dr. Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Duwaini, Deputy of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Egypt, and other participants. They were warmly received by Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Sharjah Quran Academy.

Dr. Al Tunaiji provided a comprehensive overview of the Academy’s vision and mission during their tour. He highlighted its three foundational pillars: the Sharjah Global Electronic Qira’ah platform, scientific studies and research, and the Quranic museums. This platform currently supports Quranic certification students across 172 countries.

The visitors explored various exhibits showcasing the history of Quranic script, rare manuscripts, renowned reciters, scientific miracles in the Quran, and artefacts like the covering of the Kaaba (kiswa). These exhibits reflect the Academy's dedication to preserving Quranic heritage.

Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Humaid praised the Academy as a unique cultural landmark in Quranic knowledge. He commended its innovative approaches in education, research, and documentation of Quranic sciences. The Academy plays a crucial role in spreading and honouring the message of the Quran globally.

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi's efforts in establishing this institution were also acknowledged by Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Humaid. The Academy's commitment to preserving and transmitting Quranic knowledge through centuries has been significant.

The visit underscored the importance of such institutions in fostering understanding and appreciation for Quranic sciences worldwide. The Holy Quran Academy continues to be a beacon for those seeking knowledge about Islam's holy text.
