Saudi Industry Minister Launches '1K Mile' Program's 3rd Edition To Empower Entrepreneurs

The 3rd edition of the "1K Mile" entrepreneurship program was officially launched by the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef. The event also celebrated the achievements of entrepreneurs from the previous edition. This initiative aims to foster innovation in Saudi Arabia's industrial and logistics sectors.

In his keynote speech, Alkhorayef highlighted the program's role in nurturing a thriving ecosystem for industrial and logistics entrepreneurs. "1K Mile is instrumental in identifying and refining business models, assessing market dynamics, and empowering entrepreneurs to make well-informed investment decisions," he stated.

'1K Mile' Program's New Phase Begins

The program leverages Saudi Arabia's strategic location, robust infrastructure, and supportive regulatory environment to create fertile ground for growth. It aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, aiming to transform ideas into tangible projects through financial, knowledge, and technical support.

The minister noted that the 2nd edition resulted in 84 promising projects ready for investment. These projects were evenly split between the industrial and logistics sectors. Over 4,000 aspiring entrepreneurs participated, with 84 advancing to the feasibility study phase. Ultimately, 20 projects – 10 in industry and 10 in logistics – emerged as winners.

Alkhorayef praised young entrepreneurs for their innovative use of technology and AI to drive their endeavors forward. He emphasized that these advancements are crucial for future success in both sectors.

The ceremony also acknowledged key stakeholders who provided vital incentives, training, and support to participants. Their contributions were essential in helping entrepreneurs navigate challenges and achieve their goals.

By fostering entrepreneurship in these critical sectors, "1K Mile" aims to create a sustainable ecosystem that supports long-term economic growth. The program's success is a testament to Saudi Arabia's commitment to innovation and development.

The event concluded with a recognition of the collaborative efforts that have made "1K Mile" a cornerstone of entrepreneurial development in Saudi Arabia.
