Saudi Arabia Unveils First AI-Powered Enterprise Data Management Platform
In a significant move towards harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI) for data governance, Governata has unveiled its enterprise data management platform. This marks the initiation of Saudi Arabia's first AI-driven solution aimed at enhancing decision-making processes in both public and private sectors. The platform is the first Arabic solution of its kind, designed to ensure compliance with national data regulations and to foster the adoption of GenAI technologies.
At its core, Governata offers a comprehensive suite of automated software tools. These are meticulously crafted to streamline data governance by automating data discovery, ensuring data quality, and protecting personal data, thus accelerating implementation times.

The software boasts an intuitive Arabic interface, making it fully accessible and in harmony with the National Data Management Office (NDMO) guidelines. It facilitates automated compliance monitoring, personal data protection in line with Saudi PDPL regulations, and efficient data cataloguing and classification. This initiative not only amplifies data accuracy and security but also simplifies access management across organisations.
This launch is a timely response to Vision 2030's call for a robust digital economy in Saudi Arabia. Governata is set to play a critical role in this transformation by providing a data-driven foundation that is both globally adaptable and locally pertinent. The platform translates consistent compliance into a strategic benefit, enhancing operational efficiency through the automation of data governance tasks, improving data quality, and ensuring complete control over data processes. Governata's technology-forward approach enables widespread application and quick scalability, setting a new standard in the realm of data governance.
The visionary team behind Governata includes Djamel Mohand, Jehad Senan, and Khalid Almudayfir, each bringing a wealth of experience from various sectors. Djamel Mohand, a seasoned entrepreneur, has significantly contributed to the region's tech startup scene. Jehad Senan, with two decades of expertise in data analytics and governance, provides deep insights into global advisory practices.
Khalid Almudayfir, with his extensive background in data science, has been instrumental in developing national data governance frameworks. Their combined efforts aim to bolster Saudi Arabia's digital security and trust, facilitating a transition towards optimized AI-driven decision-making.
Djamel Mohand emphasised the importance of efficient data management, stating, "Data is the foundation of the present and future digital economy, and our goal is to help Saudi and global organisations manage it more efficiently and responsibly so they can take more accurate, swift and relevant decisions".
Governata's platform stands out as a cloud-ready solution that can be deployed either fully on-premises or as a SaaS, offering flexibility to organisations. It is developed to connect seamlessly with an organization's data sources, interpret and enrich technical metadata with business insights, and ensure compliance with NDMO standards.
Jehad Senan highlighted the platform's capabilities by saying, "Governata serves as the gateway for organizations to unlock the full potential of Generative AI. Our unique strengths lie in being able to connect to a firm's data sources, interpret technical metadata, enrich it with business metadata, and classify it completely in line with NDMO standards — all while ensuring a rigorous quality control process and understanding personal data seamlessly".
Beyond software solutions, Governata is actively collaborating with leading advisory firms and system integrators across the region to implement its cutting-edge solutions. The company also offers consulting services and ongoing training to ensure effective data governance and management in alignment with NDMO requirements.
As part of its long-term strategy, Governata is not only focusing on Saudi Arabia but also setting its sights on the broader MENA region, planning to introduce new products to enhance its foundational data governance software.
