Saqr Ghobash Leads 18th Regular Meeting Of GCC Leaders On Peace And Stability
Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), addressed the 18th regular meeting of GCC Shura, Representatives, National, and Ummah Councils leaders. He stressed that the GCC nations remain committed to global peace and stability through the guidance of their wise leaders and the determination of their citizens. This meeting was hosted by the FNC in Abu Dhabi.
Ghobash shared greetings from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, wishing success for the gathering. He reiterated the UAE's call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza. The UAE is dedicated to providing urgent aid and political support to Palestinians in their quest for an independent state based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The UAE's stance on Lebanon was also highlighted by Ghobash. He called for an immediate ceasefire there and urged full implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701. The UAE supports Lebanon's people and government in maintaining stability, security, and sovereignty.
In attendance were notable figures such as Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam from Bahrain, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh from Saudi Arabia, Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim from Qatar, and Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali from Oman. Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, and GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi were also present.
Ghobash emphasised that this meeting signifies the strong bonds and shared future among GCC countries at both leadership and citizen levels. The collaboration reflects a unified approach towards addressing regional challenges and fostering harmony within the Gulf region.
The gathering underscored the importance of cooperation among GCC states to address pressing issues effectively. By working together, these nations aim to enhance regional security and promote peace across their territories.
