Salem Al Qasimi Celebrates Graduates At Sharjah Education Academy's Third Ceremony
Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler's Office, attended the third graduation ceremony of the Sharjah Education Academy (SEA) at University City Hall in Sharjah. The event celebrated the achievements of 313 graduates from various academic programmes. These included teachers, school leaders, and early childhood specialists.
Dr Muhadditha Al Hashimi, Chairperson of the Academy, expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for his unwavering support since the Academy's inception. She thanked Sheikh Salem for honouring the graduates and congratulated them and their families on their success. Dr Al Hashimi praised Sharjah's educational accomplishments and highlighted the graduating class as part of a broader vision for educational excellence.
The Academy graduated 145 individuals from the third group of the Postgraduate Diploma in Education, 74 from the second group of the Master of Education in Educational Leadership, 28 from the first group of the Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership, and 66 from the second group of the Certificate in Early Childhood Education. Among these graduates, 28 participated in the "I Am Proud to Be a Teacher" programme.
Pauline Taylor-Guy, Chancellor of SEA, congratulated graduates and emphasised their role as future educators. She stated, "Today, we celebrate a group of passionate educators and leaders who have demonstrated great determination, dedication, and resilience throughout their academic journey. Your graduation marks not just the end of a study programme but the beginning of a new chapter in your professional lives. You are changemakers, inspiring role models, and the future of education. You have chosen a noble path that requires a clear vision, compassion, and unwavering commitment."
Taylor-Guy highlighted SEA’s commitment to developing professional teachers through diverse programmes grounded in scientific research. She noted that significant steps have been taken to transform education through accredited diploma and master's programmes. Strategic global partnerships and research-driven initiatives have empowered educators with skills to lead classrooms effectively.
Maryam Al Balushi represented her fellow graduates with a speech expressing joy at completing their studies. She said they carry "the joy of accomplishment" and are ready to contribute positively to education with modern visions gained at SEA. She added that teaching is more than a profession; it is a mission beginning with hope and ending with empowering generations.
Honouring Graduates and Partners
The Chairman presented graduation certificates to students from academic and professional development programmes. He also honoured GEMS Millennium School Sharjah for its role in hosting SEA students under the "Guidance School" initiative launched in 2023.
Dr Al Hashimi concluded her speech by encouraging graduates to be ambassadors for quality education. She urged them to embrace their roles as decision-makers shaping education’s future aligned with Sharjah’s progressive vision.
The ceremony ended with graduates reciting the Teacher's Oath: "I swear by Almighty God to observe God in the teaching profession, to protect my students in all circumstances, to do my utmost in their education, to instill a love of the homeland in their hearts, and to be sincere in the teaching profession, and God is my witness."
