Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Engages With Youth At Supreme Council For Motherhood And Childhood Visit

H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, recently visited the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood. During his visit, he examined various projects and initiatives undertaken by the council. He also engaged with members of the UAE Children’s Parliament and the COP28 Children’s Committee, an initiative aimed at increasing awareness about climate issues among Emirati youth.

Sheikh Saif participated in a children's conference that was part of preparations for the Sixth Forum of the Global Network of Religions for Children (GNRC) in Abu Dhabi. This international event seeks to involve religious leaders and communities in tackling pressing global challenges affecting children. His Highness attended discussions where children from different countries shared their experiences and ideas on children's rights and protection.

During his interaction with the UAE Children’s Parliament, Sheikh Saif commended their efforts to empower young people. He highlighted their role in fostering awareness of important national issues and ensuring children can express their views on matters impacting them. The Minister praised their pioneering work in promoting youth empowerment.

The COP28 Children’s Committee also received recognition from Sheikh Saif for their active involvement in workshops and lectures during the previous Conference of the Parties held in Dubai. He emphasised their contribution to addressing climate change and empowering future generations to play a significant role in global sustainability efforts.

Accompanied by Reem bint Abdullah Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Sheikh Saif toured the council's premises. He was briefed on its accomplishments under the leadership of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, who holds several key positions including Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU).

The visit concluded with a commemorative photograph featuring Sheikh Saif alongside children, officials, and participants from the international forum. This gesture underscored the UAE's dedication to empowering its youth while collaboratively addressing global challenges.
