RTA Launches New Intercity Bus Route Connecting Dubai And Sharjah Effective 2nd May 2025

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to introduce a new intercity bus service, Route E308, starting 2nd May 2025. This route will link Stadium Bus Station in Dubai with Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah. The fare for a single trip is AED12. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity between the two emirates.

Adel Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, emphasised the importance of expanding the public bus network. He stated that integrating buses with other transport modes like metro, tram, and marine services is crucial. "Enhancing intermodal connectivity is central to positioning public transport as the preferred choice for mobility across the emirate," he added.

New Intercity Bus Route from Dubai to Sharjah

From 2nd May, several bus routes will undergo modifications to improve passenger experience. These changes aim to provide smoother and more efficient commutes. For instance, Route 17 will now end at Baniyas Square Metro Station instead of Al Sabkha Bus Station. Meanwhile, Route 24 has been adjusted within the Al Nahda 1 area.

Route 44 will be rerouted from Al Rebat Street to serve Dubai Festival City. Additionally, Route 56 will extend its service to reach DWC Staff Village. Routes 66 and 67 will include a new stop at Al Ruwayah Farm area, enhancing accessibility for passengers in that region.

Changes also affect Route 32C, which will no longer operate between Al Jafiliya Bus Station and Al Satwa Bus Station. Passengers heading to Al Satwa can use Route F27 instead. Similarly, Route C26's stop has shifted from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2.

Route E16 now terminates at Union Bus Station rather than Al Sabkha Bus Station. For Route F12, the section between Al Satwa Roundabout and Al Wasl Park has been curtailed; it now follows Kuwait Street instead. These adjustments are part of RTA's efforts to streamline services.

The relocation of stops continues with Route F27 moving from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2. In Jebel Ali Industrial Area, Route F47 has been rerouted for better coverage. Furthermore, Route F54 extends its reach to serve the new JAFZA South labour camp.

Lastly, Route X92's stop has been moved from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 1. These changes reflect RTA's commitment to improving public transport efficiency and accessibility across Dubai.

The introduction of these new routes and adjustments signifies RTA's ongoing efforts to enhance public transportation in Dubai. By improving connectivity and service efficiency, RTA aims to make public transport a more attractive option for residents and visitors alike.
