RTA Launches Advanced Leadership Programme To Develop Future Emirati Leaders

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced the Advanced Leadership programme. This initiative is designed to prepare Emirati professionals from the second and third leadership levels for impactful roles within the organisation. The programme underscores RTA's dedication to nurturing national talent, enhancing their skills, and preparing them to lead Dubai's future development.

The programme aims to equip leaders with the ability to drive strategic projects, advancing RTA's objectives while contributing to Dubai's growth. A total of 22 participants, including directors and deputies, have been chosen. Their leadership skills are evaluated through immersive environments that mimic real-world challenges, in collaboration with global strategic partners.

RTA's New Programme for Emirati Leaders

Athari Mohamed, Executive Director of Human Resources and Development at RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, stated: "The launch of the Advanced Leadership programme aligns with the Human Resources Strategy 2025–2030, which aims to strengthen the readiness of national talent, enhance the employee experience, and foster a culture of innovation and diversity within a sustainable and motivating work environment."

The programme is built on a competency framework developed with international partners. It defines structured pathways for leadership development, ensuring training meets global standards. Participants receive a unique learning experience through this approach. The initiative reflects RTA's commitment to investing strategically in human capital.

The year-long programme consists of seven modules based on modern leadership practices. Delivered by experts, it includes strategic planning simulations, self-leadership training, and team-building exercises. Other areas covered are change leadership, sustainability, wellbeing, and major project management.

Each module is crafted to enhance the capabilities of second and third-tier leaders. This prepares them for future challenges while supporting Dubai’s comprehensive development journey. The programme also strengthens RTA’s position across all organisational levels.

The initiative is tailored to develop Emirati talent across RTA’s sectors and agencies. It prepares them for senior roles within both the Authority and broader government ecosystem. Participants engage in activities combining theory and practice to boost individual capabilities.
