RTA Introduces Integrated System To Enhance Passenger Experience At Dubai Metro And Tram Stations

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with Keolis MHI, has launched a digital platform to enhance the passenger experience on Dubai Metro and Tram. This system oversees inspection operations at stations, aligning with RTA's goal to improve public transport services through advanced technology. It aims to digitise inspection processes and monitor passenger violations efficiently.

The new system significantly boosts the operational efficiency of Dubai Metro and Tram. It automates inspection procedures and revamps monitoring operations, ensuring smoother functioning. The platform identifies high-priority areas needing more monitoring, optimising fare inspector deployment to curb violations effectively.

RTA Enhances Passenger Experience at Metro and Tram

Real-time monitoring of inspectors' performance is a key feature of this system. It tracks ticket inspection activities, issues live updates, and generates analytical reports on operational outcomes. During major events, data analysis helps predict areas prone to violations, allowing for quicker responses by deploying teams at high-footfall stations.

This initiative has led to a 14% monthly increase in inspection rates and better violation detection. By recording passenger data, it identifies repeat offenders and educates them on following regulations. This approach enhances compliance with Dubai Metro and Tram rules, promoting a safer travel environment.

The system also addresses specific violations like unauthorised use of the Gold Class cabin by Silver nol cardholders and misuse of spaces designated for women. By focusing on these issues, it ensures passenger comfort and safety are prioritised.

Supporting Urban Sustainability

This technology supports urban sustainability by reducing resource consumption and promoting eco-friendly practices. It fosters a sustainable transport ecosystem in Dubai. A specialised centre strengthens inspection oversight and violation monitoring at metro and tram stations, ensuring optimal resource use.

Equipped with live monitoring screens, this centre allows instant oversight of ticket inspectors. It ensures swift responses to violations affecting passenger safety and comfort. This proactive approach contributes to a more efficient public transport system in Dubai.

The digital platform represents a significant advancement in digitising inspection operations for Dubai Metro and Tram. By enhancing operational efficiency, improving compliance, and supporting sustainability efforts, it aligns with RTA's strategy to introduce advanced technological solutions in public transport.
