RTA Secures 7-Star Intellectual Property Recognition For Innovative Dubai Traffix Traffic Engineering Programme

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has received global recognition for its Dubai Traffix programme. This initiative in traffic engineering has been acknowledged by the Global Benchmarking Network, earning a seven-star classification for its innovative practices. This accolade enhances Dubai's reputation in engineering, showcasing RTA's ability to share successful practices internationally.

Hussain Al Banna, CEO of RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, highlighted the significance of the Dubai Traffix programme. He stated: "The Dubai Traffix programme marks a paradigm shift (game-changer) in modern government systems in the field of traffic engineering and provides pivotal support for infrastructure systems, the economy, and the master plans of modern cities."

RTA Gains 7-Star Recognition for Dubai Traffix

The Dubai Traffix platform functions as a comprehensive digital system. It manages procedures from assessing land use and traffic movement to obtaining final approvals. This system integrates with both RTA’s internal systems and external ones like Dubai Municipality’s building permits system. It aligns land use with strategic road and transport projects, supporting urban growth.

Since its launch in 2017, the platform has undergone continuous development. Registered as RTA's intellectual property last year, it was evaluated by the Global Benchmarking Network in March 2025. The programme achieved top ratings for innovation and efficiency, securing its place in the prestigious seven-star category.

The programme supports over 4,000 traffic impact studies for development projects. It also facilitated 180 agreements between RTA and leading development entities to implement traffic solutions and infrastructure projects. This collaboration enhances urban planning efficiency across Dubai.

Al Banna added that extensive efforts have been made over recent years to study traffic impacts in Dubai. These efforts led to developing one of the most advanced digital engineering programmes for assessing traffic impacts in modern cities.

Commitment to Innovation

RTA is committed to continuously updating its systems to maintain global competitiveness. Al Banna concluded: "RTA is constantly working to develop and update all its systems and engineering programmes to a level that qualifies it for global competitiveness and leadership." The programme embodies RTA’s values of innovation and teamwork.

This achievement underscores RTA's dedication to enhancing mobility through innovative solutions. By aligning with global standards, RTA aims to maintain its leadership position in seamless and sustainable mobility worldwide.
