UAE Ministry Of Interior Sets Regulations For Vehicle Decorations During 54th National Day Celebrations

The Ministry of Interior has outlined the legal guidelines for celebrating the 54th National Day, focusing on road safety and preventing hazardous practices. Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harthi, Chairman of the Federal Traffic Council, highlighted the importance of observing this national occasion in a manner that embodies the UAE's positive values. He urged everyone to follow laws and safety measures to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow.

The regulations specify using only approved stickers, banning slogans or signs unrelated to National Day, and prohibiting marches or random gatherings on roads. Blocking traffic or causing congestion is not allowed. The rules also forbid vehicle overloading, passengers exiting through windows or sunroofs, and performing stunts or dangerous acts on roads.

Vehicle Decoration Rules for UAE National Day

Covering side or windshields with stickers, using sunshades, adding noise-making materials, unauthorised vehicle modifications, and visibility-obstructing accessories are prohibited. Scarves can only be worn if designated for National Day celebrations. Spray paint use by drivers, passengers, and pedestrians is banned. Playing loud music is restricted to approved anthems for National Day.

Decoration shops must adhere to these guidelines by only installing UAE flags or approved stickers. Flags of other countries are not permitted during the celebration period except for the UAE flag. Legal action will be taken against vehicles violating these rules, including fines and impounding non-compliant vehicles.

The Ministry emphasised that obscuring licence plates, changing vehicle colour, and tinting windshields are forbidden. Shops must comply with these decoration rules to avoid penalties. The Ministry called on the community to celebrate responsibly, showcasing patriotism while maintaining road safety and mutual respect.

The Ministry of Interior encourages cooperation from all citizens to reflect a civilised image of the UAE during celebrations. By adhering to these regulations, individuals contribute to a safe environment that honours the nation's values and commitment to safety on its roads.
