Ras Al Khaimah Achieves First Place In InterNations' 2024 Expat Essentials Index

Ras Al Khaimah has been recognised as the top city globally in the "Expat Essentials Index" by InterNations, a leading expatriate network. This accolade is part of their 2024 Expat Insider report, which evaluated 53 cities. The index assesses four key areas: administrative ease, housing affordability and availability, digital life, and language integration.

The recognition underscores Ras Al Khaimah's dedication to fostering an outstanding environment for its expatriate community. This aligns with the strategic vision of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. The city also ranked second in the Working Abroad Index and fifth for Ease of Settling In.

In Ras Al Khaimah, nearly 72% of respondents found securing housing easy, compared to 45% globally. Additionally, 69% reported no issues with local bureaucracy or language barriers before moving, against a global average of 29%. These figures highlight the city's appeal to expatriates seeking a seamless transition.

Heba Fatani, Director-General of Ras Al Khaimah Government Media Office (RAKGMO), stated, "This achievement reflects our dedication to creating a safe, welcoming and thriving community that attracts individuals from all around the world." She emphasised the emirate's modern infrastructure and rich cultural heritage as key attractions for expatriates.

RAKGMO recently introduced Heart of RAK, an online platform showcasing life in the emirate. This initiative aims to enhance Ras Al Khaimah's reputation as a desirable place for expatriates to live and work. The platform highlights various aspects of life in the emirate, contributing to its growing appeal.

Rouba Zeidan, Head of Special Projects at RAKGMO, remarked on the collaborative efforts between public and private sectors in enhancing Ras Al Khaimah’s attractiveness. "Earning the top ranking in this global survey is a testament to the vibrant community spirit," she said.
