RAKEZ Concludes Successful India Roadshow, Strengthening UAE–India Economic Ties
Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) recently completed a successful roadshow across multiple Indian cities. Led by Group CEO Ramy Jallad, the tour visited Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, and New Delhi. It attracted over 200 Indian companies from various sectors. This initiative underscored RAKEZ's dedication to fostering business ties under the UAE–India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
The roadshow was organised with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and supported by regional chambers in Chennai. These included the Tamil Chamber of Commerce, Andhra Chamber of Commerce, Hindustan Chamber of Commerce, and the All India Manufacturers’ Organisation. The event engaged industrialists and entrepreneurs interested in global expansion opportunities.

A significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the New Delhi leg. Jallad and Manab Majumdar from FICCI formalised this strategic agreement. It aims to enhance economic cooperation between the UAE and India by facilitating knowledge exchange and organising business events.
The MoU sets out broad areas for collaboration to strengthen commercial ties between both nations. It encourages delegation visits and creates new platforms for Indian enterprises to engage in CEPA initiatives. The signing occurred at a roundtable with leaders from manufacturing, engineering, chemicals, building materials, and related sectors.
The roadshow concluded with the UAE–India Start-up Series finale in New Delhi. This flagship initiative under CEPA aims to identify innovative Indian start-ups with global potential. Among the showcased ventures was Bioreform, a Hyderabad-based company producing biodegradable packaging alternatives.
Bioreform emerged as one of the winners and will receive direct support from RAKEZ to expand its operations internationally. The company uses a proprietary biopolymer blend to create certified compostable alternatives to single-use plastics.
Commitment to Growth
Reflecting on the week-long engagement, Jallad stated that India fosters one of the world's most vibrant business environments. He noted that interactions across Pune, Chennai, and New Delhi showed strong interest among Indian companies in expanding into the UAE.
"Ras Al Khaimah offers them a dynamic and cost-effective base for growth," said Jallad. "Our strengthened partnership with FICCI and the successful completion of the UAE–India Start-up Series demonstrate our collective commitment to fostering innovation, industry development, and long-term collaboration under CEPA."
The roadshow's success marks a significant step forward in enhancing UAE–India trade and investment ties. It reinforces RAKEZ’s role as a strategic gateway for Indian businesses aiming to scale in the region and beyond.
